Red

Another contribution of Fall colors. This splash of red caught my eye and I’m interested in learning about more about the plant. A Google image search finds that this is a Yaupon Holly plant. I assume the Holly plant is branching up into an Oak tree and that this large tree will not be completely covered in red.

In the past I have always thought of Holly plants as small bushes which might reach six feet in height.

Anyone with knowledge on this please leave a comment.

theme day, comfort food

It is the first of the month and the City Daily Photo community theme is “comfort food”. Today’s photo shows pumpkin pies we made for Thanksgiving and they are not only good but when I eat pumpkin pie I remember my youth. I remember Thanksgiving meals at my grandma’s house with the extended family. I remember love.

Today’s photo shows a mash scene from Seabrook Island. This photo was taken to share the purple colors for the grass on edge of the marsh. Unfortunately I don’t know the name and googling has not helped, I will ask the neighbors and will share the name.

Today’s photo shows Fall colors found on the island. As I have mentions previously the colors commonly found are blue and green. Interestingly the most colorful season is Fall.

Whoa!

The sign reads, Whoa! 10MPH.

I am using this photo as a reminder for what I need to do after a big Thanksgiving meal. Despite my best intentions I overate yesterday and need to slowdown today and the rest of the week.

The sign was found at the equestrian center on the Island. So Whoa! is appropriate.

Thanksgiving meal

Today’s photo shows our Thanksgiving meal which we ordered from the Market at Freshfields Village.

During the Pandemic we chose to keep Thanksgiving small and to order our meal rather than roast a turkey. However, so much food was delivered that we now have meals for Thanksgiving week.

In the sprint of Thanksgiving we want to express thanks to the essential workers who keep so many of us safe. Thank you for preparing and delivering our meal. It is greatly appreciated,

As we left the beach I took this photo of the Danger sign. Just offshore there a extreme currents and we are warned of the dangers of swimming into those currents.

Sail boats often pass through those waters between the beach and the sandbar.

beach club

Today’s photo shows one small part of the beach club on the island. It is interesting that just outside the club you have more sand and you are closer to the waves. But what you get with the club is the bar (smile).

Also, you get two swimming pools, two restaurants, massage service, and towel service.
