On arriving, on Seabrook Island, you are greeted with streets lined with live oak trees and beautiful homes. Historically Southern Live Oak have been used in ship building, “specifically used to make curved structural members of the hull”.
Following is a link to a Wikipedia article about Live Oak trees. Also, a link has been included for today’s photo saved on Flickr with the caption Live Oak trees and beautiful homes on Seabrook Island.
The oak trees are wonderful Denton, I’m happy that they aren’t chopping them down to build ships anymore 😉
